The American Gaming Association (AGA) estimates that 23.2 million people in the US will wager around $4.3 billion on this year’s game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. A record 7.6 million people will bet with an online sportsbook, according to the survey. That’s a 63 percent increase year-over-year. According to Action Network's Darren Rovell, it was the biggest bet placed on this year’s Super Bowl, supplanting a $2.3 million wager someone placed on the Bucs at BetMGM last week.
They say scared money don’t make money, and that’s certainly true.
